Why Grow Native / Pollinator Gardens?
-
Pollinator Gardens
“Some scientists estimate that one out of every three bites of food we eat exists because of animal pollinators like bees, butterflies and moths, birds and bats, and beetles and other insects.” Without pollinators, we can’t enjoy coffee, pumpkins, apples, or strawberries. “Habitat loss, disease, parasites, and environmental contaminants have all contributed to the decline of many species of pollinators.” How can you help? By planting native pollinator-friendly plants in your home landscape.

Native Gardens
Native plants create habitat for local wildlife, are lower maintenance than imported varieties & are more likely to survive local soil and weather conditions.
Native plants also capture carbon and don’t require industrial pollution like lawn mowers or blowers to maintain. They require far less water than non-native plants/lawns and they are beautiful! They produce a wide array of showy flowers and seasonal interest.
Native/Pollinator Garden Services
Step 1: Initial Consult
Price: $150
During your initial one-hour consult, we review your goals for your space, assess your current setup, discuss important aspects of a native plant garden, and decide the next steps for a design. This one hour is far more than an evaluation & measuring of your space; you will walk away knowing more about plants than you did before; we care about education as much as we do about plants.
One hour is sufficient to discuss, measure, and take pictures of one area of the property, such as the front flowerbeds. If you would like to cover a larger area, additional time will be billed to allow ample opportunity to touch all bases without feeling rushed.
This price covers any location within 30 minutes of northwest Lewisville. A travel surcharge applies for any distance beyond 30 minutes. Clients who are an hour or more from Lewisville are encouraged to meet over Zoom for the initial consult at a discounted rate.
Please note: Credit card fees are a big drain on a small business. After your initial consult, a 3% fee will be added to any purchase should you choose to pay with a credit card. Payments via Zelle, check or ACH Transfer incur no extra transaction fees and are encouraged.
Step 2: Garden Design
Price: 10% of overall rough estimate; this is a nonrefundable deposit
An expert design maximizes the potential for your space. You will receive a graphic layout, plant list with pictures and information to get to know each plant, installation & watering instructions, and detailed estimates for making the dream into reality.
Coaching
$150 - first hour; $75 - second hour and beyond plus any materials
For clients with existing flowerbeds who want to DIY their garden with guidance and who have a desire to learn more about plants in general, this is the ultimate classroom. We will address any questions you have while you learn about growing seasons, how to plant and get plants established, how to tend & maintain your garden, optimal watering methods, and more.
Step 3: Installation
Price: Depends on size; detailed estimate pending completion of Design
We take care of every aspect of getting your garden in place and growing. After you approve the Garden Design and Estimate, we will deliver and install all the components you need to get your garden in place: sod/plant removal, irrigation, soil amendments, pathways, edging, plants, trellises, etc. You skip the hard work and get straight to enjoying the pollinators who come to visit.
Step 4: Maintenance
Price: depends on scope and size of garden
Native plant gardens don’t require a lot of maintenance, but being proactive is the best defense. After installation, we recommended setting up a maintenance visit every six months or so, and more frequently if there are problems.
